Heres a secret; got an excellent idea? The method to make money with it's to be the very first kid on the block to obtain it in the marketplace. As soon as you develop strong relationships with vendors, manufacturers, retailers, etc, no matter what other products, patented or not, come down the line that closely mimics yours, the above companies will not be easily swayed to give up the trusted relationship that they have with you and replace your item with someone elses!

There was a very similar sound used for Channel 100 (a movie channel on cable in the 1970s). I found it on a reel-to-reel tape of theme songs I recorded!

I tried to upload the sound to wikepedia, but could not figure out how to do it.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Channel_100

Here are the files in two formats;
http://www.redshift.com/~1king26/Channel_100.wav
http://www.redshift.com/~1king26/Channel_100.ogg
Enjoy! Keith

Hey, great post. I think I hear the fifth above the fundamental as well and not just the octave in the original though.

Great post!

Always loved this sound so it's nice to be able to play with generating it myself. The first thing I did was to experiment with more/less voices. I noticed that, above 84, it gets unstable and introduces a lot of clicking. Any idea why that is?

Best.

Very nice rendition of the THX sound. The one under 140 characters really shows how the world of technology has evolved. It's also nice to see Mooner in here, it is rare that somebody with that much influence is so generous with experience and time. Also interesting was that it is sourced from a random number generator, even cooler!

Great work!

Hi Smart,

After your last message, I assumed you got it to work.

If you get an "unmatched ')'" error, it means that The code you selected is missing some parenthesis.

The part you selected and got to work is a complete chunk. So you are doing it right, there.

It might be a good idea to go through the tutorials for getting familiar with the environment. :)

Best,
Batuhan
